I am constantly getting requests for the "Blue Eye" animation. I am not quite sure why it is so popular. I know that I like it, but I am prejudiced, as it was one of my first successful animations. Originally created in Autodesk Animator in 1993, it has remained basically the same since, with only minor changes made to update file formats.

Having said that, I decided to start a series of evolutions of the animation. The slightly wilder version in the second frame on the left is an example of a potential direction for change. What do you think? Feel free to copy the image, just mention its origin if you use it. Also feel free to modify it at will. If you do though, please include some tracking information. Starting with the source - here - and add credits to those who make the changes. I would appreciate receiving modified versions back. It is interesting to see how various people's creative impulses impact a known subject.

Several years ago, a fan of the animation transformed it into a screen saver. Download it here and allow it to install in your windows directory. After installation, it should appear in the selection list of screen savers.
